In recent research, scientists have found out the reason for the rapid decline of insects. As per the study, they say that light pollution is a significant driver of the fall of the insect population, but until now, the main problem. Artificial light during the night time is the primary reason for the reduction of every aspect of insect lives.

About the recent research

The scientist concluded after the complete study and with all the evidence that artificial light at night causes a different problem like habitat loss, chemical pollution, invasive species, and climate changes. The research says that artificial lights are causing light pollution and due to which insect is mainly affected. The scientist found contrary evidence through which they got into this conclusion.

The scientist has almost done 150 studies and then came into the conclusion of the insect population decline. They say that the artificial lights are the bringer of the insect apocalypse. The scientist also said that light pollution is easy to prevent. The primary cause of light pollution is the unnecessary lights that we use randomly. Hence by switching off the unnecessary lights, light pollution can be easily prevented. As per the study preventing light pollution, we can save a significant loss of an insect’s population that is declining day by day.

The Artificial lights at night are the human-caused light from streetlights to gas flares from oil extraction, as said by Brett Seymoure, a behavioral ecologist at Washington University. He also said that the Artificial light could affect insect in a pretty much imaginable part of their lives. Germany and Puerto Rico reported the insect population collapses, and in February, the first global scientist reviewed the issue and said the catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystem. The significant things are that we should prevent light pollution from affecting the insect population.
